Our Story
Every journey has a beginning. Ours started with a deep love for Switzerland and a simple belief that travel should be personal, meaningful, and unforgettable.
Five years that change everything
Our journey to Switzerland began with a dream to study hospitality. What started as a three-year education soon become something much bigger. Between our studies, internships, and two years of working in Switzerland, we ended up calling the country home for five unforgettable years.
During that time, we explored Switzerland far beyond the typical tourist experience, discovering its breathtaking landscapes, celebrating local traditions, and building friendship that made the country feel like a second home.
Switzerland Became Our Home
Switzerland wasn't just a destination we visitied. It became our home. One of the most meaningful chapters of our journey was living with a local Swiss family for more than three months. Sharing everyday life, traditions, and conversations gave us a perspective that few travelers ever experienced.
It wasn't simply about seeing Switzerland, it was about understanding it through the peoplle who call it home.
Every Season Had Something New
We spent our free time exploring Switzerland far beyond the usual tourist routes. From hiking through the Alps and swimming in crystal-clear lakes during summer to wandering festive Christmas markets in winter, every season offered something unique.
We also loved experiencing local traditions, from the colorful celebrations of Fashnacht and the Vineyards Open Cellars (Caves Ouvertures) to the unforgettable Alpabzug, where decorated the cows make their journey down from the mountains. These experiences allowed us to discover a side of Switzerland that guidebooks often overlooked.
Sharing What Switzerland Gave Us
When we returned to Indonesia, we realized spending five years collecting experiences, building local knowledge, and creating friendships that changed our lives. It felt like a shame to keep those experience to ourselves.
That's why there is Jalan2Swiss, our goal is to make Switzerland easier to explore for fellow Indonesian travelers, whether you're planning an independent adventure or joining our curated trips. We want you to experience not only Switzerland's breathtaking landscapes, but also the warmth, culture, and moments that mades us dall in love with the country.
